Which bin do I use?

We operate a three bin system in West Suffolk.

Blue bin

Mixed dry recyclables, including paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays, empty aerosols, tins and cans. For a comprehensive list, read our leaflet: together we can get our recycling right. To find out how to recycle even more, please see Suffolk Recycling

Garden waste bin

This is an optional subscription service, which collects compostable garden waste only.

Black bin

Any waste that can’t be recycled or composted at home should go in your black bin. It is taken to Great Blakenham where it is used as fuel for the Energy from Waste plant.

Home composting

This is the most environmentally friendly way to treat your garden and kitchen waste. We offer cut price home composting bins through our partners at Get composting.

Battery recycling

Batteries should be recycled at your local collection point; these are located at supermarkets, DIY stores and your local recycling centre.
