Holiday events

Suffolk holiday activity programmeEaster 2024

A free programme of holiday activities funded by the Government and coordinated by West Suffolk Council is being extended once again this Easter to other families in need.

Park cooking, football, craft making, roller skating, gardening, singing, dancing, horse riding, multi-sports and visits from The Easter Bunny all feature as part of the Holiday Activities and Food Programme in West Suffolk.

There are free places at these events under the Government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. Eligibility for free places, set out by The Department for Education (DfE), is based on children and families who are on benefits related free school meals or pupil premium or where there is an identified need (such as being in care, bereavement, or if they are homeless). To enquire or book these places you can use the details on the timetable below. You should have received an email directly from your child’s school.

But West Suffolk Council recognises that there will be other families in financial hardship who are ineligible. It is allowed to use up to 15 per cent of its share of the Government funding to offer free places to families who are in financial hardship but who wouldn’t otherwise qualify. It used this discretion to offer places to families in financial hardship at Summer and Chistmas and is doing this again for this Easter. To enquire for these spaces please contact the provider directly. Spaces for this are limited and will be on a first come first served basis.
