On 1 April 2019 Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council will be replaced by a single district council called West Suffolk Council. It will entirely replace the borough and district councils but will continue to deliver the same services while finding improved ways of supporting communities, businesses and the local economy. Over the next few weeks you may notice changes to the website, forms, letters and emails, and there will be limited access to some of our online systems as we prepare for the creation of the new council.
Notice to all current and potential contractors/suppliers
We put you on notice that in April 2019 changes will be made to the structure of the councils. Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council will form a single council to be known as West Suffolk Council. All rights and obligations under the agreement with either Forest Heath District council and/or St Edmundsbury Borough Council will be transferred to West Suffolk Council by way of novation/assignment. The successful bidder shall agree to sign such documents and do such things as may be reasonably required for the purpose of giving full effect to such novation/assignment.
For any queries contact Zia Quader, Procurement Manager email: email@example.com
Selling to the councils is usually through a tendering or quotation process. Which one depends on the value of the contract. For contracts worth under £50,000 we usually require a minimum of three quotes. For contracts worth more than £50,000 we would usually enter a full tender process.
A full tender process would entail a complete background history of your company including finances, experience and any references.
We also have to comply with European directives which state that any contracts valued over a certain threshold will need to be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU)
Effective from 1 January 2018
