COVID-19 support for business - grants

Since the pandemic began, we have administered more than £120m in business grants and rate relief.

With the Omicron variant of COVID-19 having an impact on businesses, the Government announced additional support which is being administered locally by West Suffolk Council. Please click on the relevant buttons below to find out more about each including eligibility and how to apply.

The Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG) and the Omicron Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) are now closed to applications. We are already paying out on the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant and will be processing and paying out the remaining applications in March 2022.

We have updated the Omicron Additional Restrictions Grant page about the grants which have now been paid out.

The West Suffolk COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF) is currently closed to applications.

We will be reviewing the applications received after our March 15 deadline and awarding rate relief in line with the eligibility criteria and the evidence presented by businesses.

We may reopen the scheme after that based on how much of our £4.05m allocation from Government is left. West Suffolk businesses who are registered for business rates and who have been impacted by the pandemic and not qualified for other COVID Rate Relief, should keep an eye on this webpage and the Council’s social media channels for further updates.

The COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF) will be administered by Anglia Revenues Partnership on behalf of West Suffolk Council.
