Drainage and resurfacing works to take place at Newmarket car park

09 Apr 2021

Work on behalf of Anglian Water to a new drainage system at Grosvenor Yard car park and resurfacing and relining works by West Suffolk Council will start later this month.

The car park will be closed from 26 April to 22 May. During this time the only access to the car park will be for residents in Grosvenor Yard and visitors to LIDA vets.

Mark Walsh, Director of Operations at West Suffolk Council said: “While we appreciate the works will cause some disruption, they are necessary and by coordinating with the works on behalf of Anglian Water, we are ensuring the car park only needs to be closed the once for both sets of work to take place. We are also confident that we have sufficient capacity in place to meet most of Newmarket’s parking demand during this period and we will press on to get the car park reopened earlier if possible.”

Resurfacing of the footpath will also take place as part of these works which are also being carried out in partnership with Suffolk County Council.
