Earth Day 2024

West Suffolk Council celebrated Earth Day on Monday 22 April 2024. Earth Day is an annual reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, while also encouraging us to come together and take action for a healthier and brighter future.

The theme this year was ‘Planet vs Plastics’.

A team of West Suffolk Council employees volunteered to litter pick during their lunch break and found a variety of rubbish – plastic bottles, wrappers, cans and more! Those wishing to organise a litter pick as an individual or for a group, please visit: West Suffolk Council – Love Where You Live.

Staff from West Suffolk Council’s Operations team visited RAF Mildenhall to offer recycling and waste advice alongside the base’s environmental team who promoted the onsite facilities available to base personnel and their families.
