Shopmobility

You can hire a manual or electric wheelchair (excluding Bury St Edmunds) or scooter if you have any mobility problems. You do not have to be registered as disabled to use the scheme.

Shopmobility in Bury St Edmunds

In Bury St Edmunds the scheme operates from The Apex.

The Shopmobility service is unavailable on 15 August as The Apex is closed for maintenance. Normal service will resume on the 16 August. Apologies for any inconvenience. 

To use the service, you will need to register. You will need two pieces of identification with your address on both of them. If you are using the service but are not registered as disabled, then you will pay VAT.

The service is not available on Sundays or bank holidays.

Membership

There is a charge for using Shopmobility in Bury St Edmunds. You can buy membership for a year, or scooters can be hired out on a casual basis.

Shopmobility in Newmarket

The service is free in Newmarket and operates from Newmarket library at the Guineas shopping centre.

You will need to bring a form of identification with you so you can register. You can book in advance by calling Newmarket Library on 01638 661216 or you can see what is available on the day.

During Newmarket Library opening hours.

The service is not available on bank holidays.
