Bury St Edmunds cemetery
You cannot buy new graves but burials still take place in family graves that have already been bought.

1 April to 30 September 8am to 7pm, every day (including public holidays)
1 October to 31 March 8am to 4.30pm, every day (including public holidays)

Burials in existing family graves
If you have a family grave we can arrange for the interment of cremated remains in the grave. You will need the permission of the deed holder. Contact us to arrange this.
Facilities and services
Chapel: there is a traditional chapel with seating for approximately 55 people, a small electric organ and hymn books.
Tributes: memorial benches and trees are available subject to availability.

No vehicles are allowed in the cemetery except for blue badge holders.

Haverhill cemetery
Graves are available to buy in Haverhill cemetery. St Botolph's Meadowland is a designated area within the cemetery for biodegradable coffins. The area has wild flowers within a natural woodland setting. Contact us to discuss your needs.

Tributes: memorial benches and trees are available subject to availability.
Only vehicles attending funeral services and blue badge holders are allowed access.

How do I buy a grave?
Contact us to buy a grave at or inter cremated remains at Haverhill cemetery. If you'd like to inter remains we would need permission from the deed holder.

Mildenhall High Town Council manages the cemetery on Thetford Road. Full burials and plots for cremated remains are available here. For more information contact the parish council:

Newmarket
In April 2017 we took over the management of Newmarket Cemetery. Any enquiries from members of the public, funeral directors or stone masons need to be made to us.
New graves are available to buy in the cemetery, although we no longer sell graves for pre-purchase. There are also graves for sale especially for the interment of cremated remains.

The opening times are set at the discretion of Newmarket Town Council and are displayed on notices throughout the cemetery.
