Anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy

We are committed to fighting fraud and corruption, whether it is committed from outside or within the council. We will not tolerate fraud, corruption, bribery or other wrong doing in the provision of our services. The council will take appropriate and decisive action against those committing or attempting to commit fraudulent or corrupt acts.

The anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy applies to all council activities. It outlines our commitment to creating a culture of zero tolerance of fraud, theft, corruption and bribery and maintain high ethical standards in the administration of public funds. The policy applies to:

  • councillors
  • employees at all levels and grades
  • contractors and suppliers
  • partners
  • consultants, agency and contracted staff
  • service users
  • volunteers
  • members of the public
