Garden waste collection
You can now sign up for the service that runs until 31 May 2021. Make sure you sign up before 29 May to make the most of your collections. Please make sure that you subscribe at least two working days before your collection is due to give us time to process your application.
If you paid before 1 April we will have written to you to confirm if there have been any changes to your bin collection day, you don’t need to do anything, your collections will simply continue as normal.
If you haven’t subscribed before, or if you need to renew your subscription you can do everything online.
Your garden waste bin will not be emptied if you do not have a subscription to the 2020-21 year of service. Please contact Customer Services if you missed a collection due to the suspension of the service.
Garden waste collection days are changing from 1 June 2020. This can mean that your brown bin collection day could be a different day to your black or blue bin collection day. Use our Postcode lookup to find your bin collection day information.
The service was paused due to a sudden reduction in staff following the Stay At Home guidance which saw more than 40 waste and street services staff either having to shield themselves as vulnerable or someone in their home. Customers have been assured that they will not be out of pocket, with the period of the suspension being added to the current subscription year. This means that subscriptions will run until 31 May 2021 and the terms and conditions have been updated to reflect this.
Subsidised offers on home compost bins are still available from Get composting. For more information on how to compost at home visit their Home composting pages. Please note There is currently a problem with our Get composting partner website, please check back again soon.
