ARG Omicron - supporting evidence requirements

As well as completing an application form, grant applicants are also required to send the council some supporting information to demonstrate that their business is eligible for a grant. The list of what documents need to be sent is available below. Please click on your business type and you will be taken to the relevant supporting information requirements. All information needs to be sent to covid19.businessgrants@westsuffolk.gov.uk. Please quote in your email the application form reference number that you will receive once you submit the information. 

Business type A - Small bed and breakfast businesses

Business type A Other evidence required

Business type B - Accommodation, hospitality and leisure businesses occupying shared spaces

All applicants
  • Proof that the business was operating during December 2021 (for example, a bank statement)
  • Proof that the business was occupying the property during December 2021 (for example, a utility bill, receipts or delivery notes for business-related supplies or services)

Where multiple businesses occupy premises based on a single lease, the applicant must submit further evidence to demonstrate that the businesses are separate legal entities, operating independently of one another and would otherwise meet the eligibility criteria.

First-time applicants only
  • Proof that the grant applicant is responsible for the property (for example, a Land Registry document, lease, rental agreement or licence agreement)
  • A floorplan of the business premises (with dimensions added), showing which part of the larger premises your business occupies. Ideally this would be a floorplan from a lease or other legal document
  • Photographs showing the business operating from the property

Business type C - Supply chain businesses to the accommodation, hospitality, leisure, events and tourism sectors

Business type C Other evidence required
All supply chain businesses Evidence to demonstrate that the large majority (more than 60 per cent) of the business is in the supply chain for the accommodation, hospitality, leisure, events and tourism sector, for example, order books, bank statements, invoices, contracts and receipts from up to the past two years.
a. Supply chain businesses in rated premises
  • Proof that the business was operating from the property in December 2021, for example, a utility bill, receipts or delivery notes for business-related supplies or services
  • Evidence of rent or other ongoing fixed property costs
b. Supply chain businesses in shared premises

All applicants:

 

  • Proof that the business was operating from the property during December 2021 (for example, a utility bill, receipts or delivery notes for business-related supplies or services)

Where multiple businesses occupy premises based on a single lease, the applicant must submit further evidence to demonstrate that the businesses are separate legal entities, operating independently of one another and would otherwise meet the eligibility criteria.

  • Evidence of advertising, for example, links to online pages including social media
f. Taxi drivers resident in West Suffolk
  • A photograph of the driver’s taxi or private hire licence card, showing the expiry date
  • Motor insurance certificate, showing the cover for use as a taxi or private hire vehicle
g. Taxi drivers not resident in West Suffolk
  • A photograph of the driver’s taxi or private hire licence card, showing the expiry date
