Grant funding for small businesses and retail, hospitality and leisure businesses
The Government has made available funding for small businesses with rateable values of £15,000 or less and for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses with rateable values of £51,000 or less.
The majority of businesses who are eligible for this funding have already been given grants (nearly £34 million has been paid out to West Suffolk businesses) but a few businesses who are eligible have yet to apply for grants. Council staff have been searching on social media and leaving messages on company phones to try and speak to these businesses.
Any remaining businesses who are eligible for this funding should complete the declaration form.

Community facilities, including those attached to places of worship
The Government has confirmed that charities which would meet the criteria in regard to having a premises with a rateable value of less than £51,000 will be eligible for a cash grants of £10,000 or £25,000 per property. As such this means that many of our village halls and other community groups with their own property meeting the criteria have received grants to support them through this time. Any remaining organisations who are eligible for the funding should complete the declaration form above (for small businesses and retail, hospitality and leisure businesses).
West Suffolk Council is also including community facilities that are associated with places of worship within the grant scheme, as they meet the criteria but were not included initially because they are exempt from paying business rates. Only those community facilities that are rented frequently and regularly by groups from the wider community and whose income has been significantly impacted by Covid-19 fall within the scheme. Council officers are contacting relevant organisations to ask them to complete the following declaration form if they would like to receive a grant:
