On 1 April 2019 Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council will be replaced by a single district council called West Suffolk Council. It will entirely replace the borough and district councils but will continue to deliver the same services while finding improved ways of supporting communities, businesses and the local economy. Over the next few weeks you may notice changes to the website, forms, letters and emails, and there will be limited access to some of our online systems as we prepare for the creation of the new council.
Our medium term financial strategy spans a five year period. It assesses and evaluates the financial resources we expect to have and our expenditure in order to deliver our strategic priorities.
In December 2015, the Government offered councils the opportunity of entering into a four year funding settlement, on production of an “Efficiency Plan”, summarising councils’ approaches to the next four year period.
Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury submitted their joint Efficiency Plan to the Department for Communities and Local Government on 10 October 2016. Links to the documents can be found here:
The councils' budgets are approved annually at Full Council in February. You can view the full reports and budget books for 2018 to 2019 using the links below:
