See how the Mildenhall Hub is progressing from the comfort of your home

A new video made by the construction firm that is building The Mildenhall Hub, shows that it is on track to open next year.
R G Carter started work on the visionary Hub project in 2019.
The Hub brings together a modern new school for Mildenhall College Academy, new leisure facilities including bigger pools, plus a health centre, library, advice centre, children’s centre and desk space for Suffolk Police, West Suffolk Council, the NHS, including Public Health England.
R G Carter had hosted a number of tour events prior to the pandemic and recognised that there was particular excitement around the new school and leisure facilities. It produced the video to share not just with project partners, but also local residents, so they can see for themselves that the Hub is progressing and will be in use in 2021.
Councillor Jo Rayner, Cabinet Member for Community Hubs at West Suffolk Council said: “I’m very grateful to R G Carter for making this video. We’d always envisaged that we would have opportunities for members and representatives of the local community to look around the site as its construction progressed. Unfortunately the need for careful on-site management around social distancing during this pandemic means that hasn’t been possible since March, but this video is a great way of sharing the progress made with the community in and around Mildenhall. The hub will bring huge benefits to the local community and, along with all of the local councillors, I’m very much looking forward to its opening in 2021.”
Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore, said: “Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore, said: “This national exemplar scheme is designed for the very people we serve. It is about better facilities and accessible services working across organisations for the benefit of residents and it’s great to see how it is taking shape and progressing even in these difficult times.”
“I am particularly pleased to see R G Carter has had a number of apprentices working on this project, gaining skills that will set them up for the future. Employing local people to work on The hub makes it a truly community project, well done to everyone involved.”
