With the cost-of-living crisis bringing challenges to households, the Council’s work to support landlords and their tenants, has never been so important.

Guaranteed Rent and tenancy support, both of which are offered through West Suffolk Council, can give landlord the confidence to let and keep tenants.

And through the free to attend West Suffolk Landlord’s Forum which takes place on 18 October, landlords can not only find out more about how to better protect themselves and their tenants, but they can also hear from industry expert, TV’s Paul Shamplina.

Paul, the founder of Landlord Action, offers 25 years’ experience within the legal field supporting agents and landlords with problem tenants. He has worked on television programmes including “Nightmare Tenants, Slum landlords,” and was named Best Seminar speaker at The National Landlord Investment Show.

“I’m really looking forward to presenting to the landlords of Suffolk on the 18 October with the latest changes in the private rental sector and how to manage their tenancies with tenants more efficiently.  It’s great that West Suffolk Council are putting on this landlord event to engage and support their local landlords,” he said.

The landlord’s forum, which is open to all landlords in West Suffolk, will also be discussing the Renters Reform Bill and the impact it will have on tenants and landlords.

The forum is hosted by the West Suffolk Lettings Partnership, part of West Suffolk Council, which is working with landlords to protect their interests while also ensuring residents across West Suffolk have a place to live.

Cllr Sara Mildmay-White, Cabinet Member for Housing at West Suffolk Council, said: “We know that there will be challenges in the months ahead for many households including those in private rented accommodation. We want to work with landlords to give them greater confidence in letting their properties, and to offer greater support to help maintain that tenancy. All of this then helps us support tenants and stop people from becoming homeless which can be a devastating experience and is one we all want to prevent wherever we can.”

The West Suffolk Landlords’ Forum takes place from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on 18 October at the Bury St Edmunds Golf Club, Tut Hill, Fornham All Saints. Book your place at West Suffolk Lettings Partnership Landlord Forum Tickets, Tue 18 Oct 2022 at 18:30 | Eventbrite
