Studland Park Electric Vehicle (EV) Consultation

Audience: Residents

This consultation is now closed. It was open from 16 January 2023 to 7 March 2023.

The UK Government has set a target to ban the sales of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, with all new cars to have zero tailpipe emissions by 2035. To support this target, West Suffolk Council have been installing electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities in our car parks.

We would like to support residents in Studlands residential area who do not have private parking to switch to EVs. There are fifteen West Suffolk Council owned parking courts in Studlands. We have included a map showing the location of the parking areas we own (see Appendix 1).

West Suffolk Council are considering installing eight chargers across eight of these parking courts on lampposts. A lamppost solution is proposed due to the availability of electrical supply and easy installation which will not cause disruption to the car park.
