Suffolk Against Litter campaign
Having successfully been awarded a grant by the Litter Innovation Fund (LIF), the borough and district councils within Suffolk are working together to run a campaign aimed at reducing litter which will specifically target littering in our laybys and along our main roads. The campaign will trial some newly designed litter bins in key locations and monitor how well they are used. It will also involve an educational campaign aimed at targeting those who litter and to promote the recent changes in legislation which now make the maximum on the spot fine for littering up to £150.

Litter Innovation Fund
The Litter Innovation Fund (LIF) is delivered by WRAP (the Waste and Resources Action Programme) and jointly funded by the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). The aim is to reduce and prevent litter through new methods and approaches that have not been tried and tested before and which have the potential to be implemented more widely if proven effective.
