Makers markets are back for 2026
25 Feb 2026
Along with the warmer weather, the makers markets are returning this spring to Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Haverhill.
From fresh produce to gifts, food, drink and crafts, the makers markets provide a relaxed community atmosphere for shoppers to browse for local products and interact with a wide variety of traders to learn more about their products.
The makers markets will be held across three different locations during March and April:
- Bury St Edmunds: Sunday 1 March and Sunday 5 April (Easter Sunday), from 10am to 3pm
- Haverhill: Saturday 7 March and Saturday 4 April, from 9am to 3pm
- Newmarket: Saturday 14 March and Saturday 11 April, from 9am to 3pm
Cllr Indy Wijenayaka, Cabinet Member for Growth at West Suffolk Council, said: “We are always excited to welcome the successful makers markets back and this spring is no different. The markets provide a platform for our fantastic community of vendors to showcase their products and services whilst also benefitting the local economy. The makers markets are a vital part of the fabric that makes our market offering to both traders and visitors so special, and with over 80 small businesses taking part over the three makers markets, there will be plenty to enjoy!”
For those visiting the makers market in Bury St Edmunds on Easter Sunday, there will be the opportunity to meet Alice in Wonderland and the Easter Bunny!
Shoppers can find more Easter activities at the regular West Suffolk markets, as well as look forward to the additional Mildenhall markets that will be returning later this year.
