19 Mar 2026

Cllr Frank Stennett visited the site of the Marham Park shop to see how the build is progressing.

The construction of a long-awaited shop on Marham Park is progressing with the steel frame set to go up early next month.

The nine-month build is being carried out by Virtus L & P Commercial Ltd which began construction in January.

Oliver Cumberland from Virtus said: “It’s great to have the support of the community and the council in delivering this. We know how important this vital asset is for local residents and I’m very happy to say that we remain on course.

“It’s set to be a busy couple of months on site. We will be putting the ground floor steel frame of the building up from the first week of April. That will be followed by the concrete first floor and staircase which will be going in on 9 April and 10 April and the first-floor steel frame will follow after that. Bricklaying is due to begin on the 20 April.”

Cllr Frank Stennett who is Cabinet Member for Planning at West Suffolk Council and one of the ward members representing Marham Park, visited the site to see the progress that has been made.

Cllr Stennett said: “I was delighted to visit the site to see the progress that is being made. It is great to hear that the build is still on course and with the steel frame going up soon, I expect it will start to feel even more real and exciting for residents who are eager to see this important community facility delivered. I cannot wait to see the new shop open and serving the community of Marham Park.”
