Dragons and a T-Rex as family spectacular returns to West Stow
04 Jun 2026
There are just a few weeks left to go until Dragon Fest and families who book tickets now can save £5 per person.
Dragon Fest takes place at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village on the weekend of Saturday 20 June and Sunday 21 June. Now in its 11th year, the popular family event organised by West Suffolk Council, gives people an insight into Anglo-Saxon beliefs and stories, as well as exploring how dragons have become a theme embedded in cultures from around the world.
Fresh from his debut in 2025, Graedig, the red dragon is back to cause mischief and mayhem. And this year he will be joined by Teddy the T-Rex as the mythical and prehistoric beasts come together for what could be the ultimate showdown.

This year we’ll also be asking children to help us and Magic Floor Productions uncover the mystery of their stolen dragon eggs.
There will be live performance of the epic tale of Beowulf by Quill and Inkling.
There’s also a chance to meet our smaller pet dragons Brym and Snarl Junior – don’t worry they are generally friendly and our dragon handler will be making sure they behave.
And there will also be comedy with Bring Out Your Dead Productions, circus workshops, bubble shows, and a fantastic selection of food, drink, and ice cream stalls to enjoy.
Cllr Ian Shipp, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture at West Suffolk Council said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming families to Dragon Fest later this month. Graedig was a huge hit last year even if he did cause mischief and chase people around the park. This year we’ve also got Teddy the T-Rex to add to the fun. Dragon Fest is a great day out for families from across West Suffolk and visitors to our area, so come along and enjoy this brilliant event.”
