Makers market

Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a summer of shopping local at the makers markets in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and Newmarket this July and August.

The popular markets are ideal for discovering delicious treats, homeware, clothes, jewellery and more!

The summer makers markets dates:

  • Haverhill - Saturday 4 July, 9am to 3pm
  • Bury St Edmunds – Sunday 5 July, 10am to 3pm
  • Newmarket - Saturday 11 July, 9am to 3pm
  • Haverhill - Saturday 1 August, 9am to 3pm
  • Bury St Edmunds - Sunday 2 August, 10am to 3pm
  • Newmarket - Saturday 8 August, 9am to 3pm

Each market will have a range of talented traders showcasing their unique products, making the perfect day out for all the family! Shoppers are encouraged to use the makers markets as a chance to explore West Suffolk whilst finding some great deals.

Cllr Indy Wijenayaka, Cabinet Member for Growth at West Suffolk Council, said: “Our makers markets continue to be a wonderful showcase for the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that exists across West Suffolk. These events provide valuable opportunities for local traders to connect with customers, whilst offering residents and visitors a vibrant shopping experience.

“We are committed to supporting our market towns and encouraging people to shop local, helping our communities and businesses thrive throughout the year. I encourage everyone to come along, meet the traders and discover the fantastic range of products available.”

Shoppers can also look forward to the Young Trader Competition in Haverhill, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds in July, as well as the additional Mildenhall markets later in the year on Sunday 20 September and Sunday 20 December.

Regular markets can be found:

  • Brandon market – Thursday, 8.30am to 1.30pm
  • Bury St Edmunds – Wednesday and Saturday, 9am to 4pm
  • Haverhill – Friday and Saturday, 9am to 3pm
  • Mildenhall – Friday, 9am to 3pm
  • Newmarket – Tuesday and Saturday, 9am to 3pm
  • Clare – the third Saturday of every month, 9am to 3pm
