Progress at Barley Homes site in Rougham

Barley Homes site visit with Barley Homes, local members and Seamans builders representatives.

On Tuesday 2 December Barley Homes representatives welcomed West Suffolk Councillors and Rushbrooke with Rougham Parish Councillors to visit their development, Kingshall Place.

Construction at Kingshall Street, Rougham to deliver a mix of new detached and semi-detached homes began in April 2025. 

The site tour offered members and stakeholders the exciting opportunity to see how the development is progressing, with first glances inside the new homes and the chance to view marketing material. 

Barley Homes are working with local company, Seamans Building to develop the site, which is delivering 13 homes, four of which will be affordable.  The homes will be a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom properties, with sizeable rear gardens and countryside views. 

Work has progressed significantly, with all 13 homes now having roof coverings and are watertight, ready for the installation of internal fittings. 

To improve energy efficiency and sustainability, each new dwelling has been constructed with a fabric first approach and will include high levels of insulation. Additionally, all homes will have heating and hot water provided via air sourced heat pumps with electrical vehicle charging points also installed. 

As part of the development there will be high quality landscape features such as, new and retained native trees and hedges, landscaped attenuation area and planting to the front of the development.

This site will also deliver off site provision from the agreed S106 in the form of education, early years, library, waste, public rights of way and open space contributions.
