Shopmobility

You can hire a manual or electric wheelchair or scooter if you have any mobility problems. You do not have to be registered as disabled to use the scheme.

Shopmobility in Bury St Edmunds

In Bury St Edmunds the scheme operates from The Apex.

To use the service, you will need to register. You will need two pieces of identification, one of them must have your address on it. If you are using the service but are not registered as disabled, then you will pay VAT.

The service is not available on Sundays or bank holidays.

Membership

There is a charge for using Shopmobility in Bury St Edmunds. You can buy membership for a year, or scooters and wheelchairs can be hired out on a casual basis.

Shopmobility in Newmarket

The Shopmobility service in Newmarket is re-opening from 7 September 2021.

The service is free in Newmarket and operates from Newmarket library at the Guineas shopping centre.

Booking

You will need to bring a form of identification with you so you can register. You can book in advance by calling Newmarket Library on 01638 661216 or you can see what is available on the day.

During Newmarket Library opening hours.

The service is not available on bank holidays.
