Mobile homes

Information for home owners

The Mobile Homes Act 2013 came into effect in 2014, it gives more rights to people who live in their own home on a protected site, the leaflet  Park homes: know your rights provides more information.

Residential park homes sites

If you own a mobile home or run a park as a mobile home/caravan site you need to be aware of your legal responsibilities under the Mobile Homes Act 2013 which amends the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960.

If you are a site owner and want more information about how the Mobile Homes Act 2013 affects you or if you are applying or renewing your licence see our Mobile park homes and caravan licensing page.

The act aims to improve housing standards, give greater protection to home owners and to allow local authorities more effective enforcement methods.
