Parish and neighbourhood plans

Parish plans document how residents would like to see their parish or village develop. Parish plans are put together after consultation with interested residents. For more information and help producing a parish plan, visit the Community Action Suffolk website.

Neighbourhood plans allow communities to shape development in their area. This includes where new homes and businesses should go. Neighbourhood plans will be led us and the relevant town and parish councils.

Once the plan has been written it will be examined independently and then will be subject to approval by local residents. More information can be found in our Planning policy section on the page Neighbourhood planning.
