Bulky household waste collection

If you cannot recycle or donate bulky items such as your furniture or white goods (for example fridges or washing machines) then we can collect and dispose of them for a fee.

Items will only be collected from bin collection points and will not be taken from gardens unless agreed at the time of booking.  We cannot collect items from inside resident’s properties. The items need to be at the bin collection point by 6.30am on the day of collection. If you have an assisted bin collection, the collection place for any bulky items will be different, so please let us know when you make the booking.

We offer three collections:

  • 1 to 5 items £45
  • 6 to 10 items £90
  • 11 to 15 items £135.

Bulky item collection is by agreement only and you will be required to pay in advance. We have limited space on our vehicle and only items listed at the time of the booking will be collected, no changes or items can be added after the booking is made. This is a non-refundable payment. On an agreed date the items will be collected from 6.30am onwards. We cannot allocate time slots. Please ensure the items are left at the bin collection point on the morning of collection.

If you receive Council Tax reduction (not including single person or student discount) you are eligible to a 50 per cent discount on the charges above for one collection a year (one collection = 1 to 5 items)

Before booking a collection

Before you arrange for us to collect your bulky items, why not consider donating them to a charity or organisation where they can be re-used by someone in need? There are many charities that will welcome donations, we have listed a few below but there will be others that exist in your area:

In addition to the above the British Heart Foundation will arrange to collect items that have a resale value: book a British Heart Foundation collection use the reference 'West Suffolk' when booking a collection. Alternatively you can drop off items for resale to one of their local shops, find my nearest British Heart Foundation shop.

If you have bulky waste that requires removal please ensure anyone who collects it is a registered waste carrier and that they can prove your waste will be disposed of at a licensed facility. See our SCRAP campaign for more information. Suffolk recycling centres are open but you are required to book online. Visit Suffolk Recycling Centres booking page.
